To celebrate their 90th year, four of the Harlem Globetrotters and eight performers from the international sensation STOMP took to an outdoor basketball court in New York City’s Greenwich Village and put together this pretty spectacular one-take video. It’s really amazing that they were able to do this in one take, and I’m sure it took more than one attempt to get this done, and a heck of a lot of practicing before bringing the crew out there. My only wish was that they somehow managed to get the sound during the shoot, since it’s pretty obvious they added it later. Ah well, still pretty darn impressive.
Our guess is that this was done with a single camera on a stabilized gimbal like the MoVI or Ronin.
The unique collaboration directed by STOMP co-creators Luke Cresswell and Steve McNicholas. School children at recess, tourists, locals and residents from nearby apartment windows watched in amazement as STOMP joined forces with Globetrotter stars Bull Bullard, Cheese Chisholm, Firefly Fisher, and Handles Franklin.
The Globetrotters will celebrate their 90th year with over 330 games in more than 260 cities in North America starting December 26, 2015. The tour’s opening week will bring 10 games to six arenas in the NYC-area, including Madison Square Garden, Barclays Center and Prudential Center.
